Sunday in Clinton

My Uncle Walter came down from Seattle, WA this weekend and visited with some of his SC family while he was on the East coast for business. It's probably been more than 10 years since I've seen him and obviously Ryan hasn't had the chance to meet him yet so him and my parents drove up to Clinton this afternoon for a mini family reunion. We ate lunch at Clinton's famous Blue Ocean restaurant and then went to the house my Grandmother grew up in and spent the rest of the afternoon chatting on the porch, eating pound cake and drinking sweet tea! The house, which was built in the 1910's, is still owned and lived in by our cousins, Nancy and Wayne, and is one of the neatest houses I've been in. It's filled with history, antiques, priceless family memorabilia and watermelon paraphernalia! My favorite thing about this house is the huge wrap-around porch filled with rocking chairs and porch swings.

We really enjoyed our laid back afternoon on the porch in Clinton, catching up with family and enjoying the fall weather! We even got to see an adoreable raccoon that had been caught and was on his way to being released back in the woods! :)

Hey Jennifer,
So sorry we couldn't make it on Sunday. The front porch is my favorite "room" of the house too. Looking forward to meeting baby H! Brantlee (Jon's wife)

Congratulations, Jennifer & Ryan,

We're happy for you. We, too, are still talking about our wonderful time sitting on the porch of the old home place in Clinton with you all.

Enjoy your "new addition" to the family & take plenty of pictures for us all.
